Just like many great bands Funeral Party began with a click of a finger, infact this Californian 5 piece formed one late night in a local park.

Marina And The Diamonds. What can i say? The strong vocals of one similar to Florence Welch with a twist of pizazz of that of La Roux and Madonna. Marina has quoted that her inspiration of her debut album 'The Family Jewels' comes from the 80's pop princess herself. This can be heard on the tracks lively 'Oh No!' and in'Hollywood' when she takes on the American dream. Her unconventional 6th track 'Obessions' is very bare and exposed. Many people can relate to her lyrics and I think this while being an fantastic female role model has proved that there are many things more to expect from the welsh beauty!

October 28. The crowd all packed like sardines into the intimate venue 'The Savoy' in Cork City, Ireland. All there for the same reason; Marina. A bass line echoes off the walls and an elegant down-to-earth Marina steps out talking to the crowd as if all we're best friends joking about the upcoming Halloween Celebrations. We're happy, she's happy, what more can you want?

She sings and sings. The crowd fixated on her. 'Everybody said Marina is a dreamer' belts out of the beauty in the anguished anthem 'Are you Satisfied', she replies to herself 'I do not give a damn if you don't believe'. The only match for Marina is herself.

After a quick outfit change Marina graces the stage adorned in red helium filled balloons. 'My heart just burst like a glass balloon' says Marina in her song 'Hermit The Frog'. With her vibrant personality, beautifully unique Greek/Welsh appearance and voice like no other in my books it will be Marina breaking the hearts.

Closing her performance, she thanked everybody for coming. Not just the way some musicians do, you could hear the genuinely and sincerness in her voice that she meant it. Playing an encore acapella 'Mowgi's Road' the crowd stood in awe-filled silence. Here the show came to an unforgetable quiet end.

After being a firm Team Edward fan for the past few years the impossible has happened Taylor Lautner has made me change my mind or at least put Jacob in the running and he certainly impresses on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Taylor Lautner’s body is a temple. The 17-year-old New Moon star with the eight-pack abs and tan, chiseled face tells Rolling Stone’s Neil Strauss he’s never smoked pot, never tried cigarettes and never snorted a line of cocaine

What Lautner has done is turn his love of martial arts into superstardom as werewolf Jacob in the Twilight series. “This could have happened to anyone who played Jacob,” Lautner tells RS. “It’s Twilight. It’s not me personally.” But his hard work is inescapable: he started learning karate at age six and moved on to Xtreme Martial Arts, relocating with his family to Los Angeles to pursue acting and stomaching the bullying that came along with it. He put on 30 pounds of muscle between the first two Twilight films. He found time to shoot the upcoming Valentine’s Day with Taylor Swift, with whom he “instantly clicked,” he admits. “Aside from being beautiful, she’s extremely funny, charismatic and fun to be around.”

"Remember Me" is a romantic drama starring Robert Pattinson and Emile De Ravin due to be released next March. We are sure the film will be very popular due to a certain heart-throb but it also looks like a really interesting film.

The plot focuses on two lovers, Tylet Roth (Pattinson) and Ally Craig (de Ravin) who find their new found releationship threatened after Ally witnesses her mother's murder and Tyler deals with the suicide of his brother.

Certainly far from the world of vampires and werewolves and it looks like a good move for Pattinson.

After recently studying the poetry of John Keats in school I was delighted to hear at the same time a biopic of his life was being released with the enchanting Ben Whishaw playing the lead role of John Keats in "Bright Star".

Whishaw also recently got interviewed for the New York Times Style Magazine T Screen Test Film Series on Youtube. Whishaw was interviewed along with other British actors Rupert Friend,
Aaron Johnson and Eddie Redmayne. The interview entitled "The Heartthrobs" talks to these young British actors about how they got started in film.

One of favourites at modeandmusic, Colin Farrell has topped polls with 23% of Irish Women wanting the In Bruges star to be the father of their child.

We wondered why they would choose Farrell to be their kiddie's daddy but we already knew

He truly loves and cares for his son, James who was diagnosed with the rare condition Angelman Syndrome before he reached his first birthday. Angleman Syndrome is form of cerebral palsy which usually gives developmental delay, speech impediment and seizures to those affected.

'There is no heartbreak about it, it's not a sad story. I'm incredibly blessed to have him in my life.

'He has enriched my life incredibly and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Another edition to the third Twilight film, Eclipse has been confirmed!

This time it is to Jack Hudson, a 26 year old british actor is also starring in the anticipated ABC series, 'Eastwick'

Huston will play Royce King II, a human that lived during the Depression. He was engaged to Rosalie before she was turned into a vampire and he wasn't too nice to her.

Eclipse will be directed by a different directer, David Slade ( 30 Days of Night ). Its scheduled for a June 30, 2010 release! We here at modeandmusic can't wait = ]

The screenplay written by Yi and Nicholas is one which no one will forget as when thinking about this mockumentry one would get the warm fuzzy feeling inside as the film is just so darn cute, especially the stills that have been released ^_^

Robert Pattinson has been named World’s Sexiest Man by the UK edition of Glamour Magazine! He beat stars like Johnny Depp (2nd), Hugh Jackman (3rd), and David Beckham (4th).

The 23-year-old recently revealed that he never thought starring in ‘Twilight’ would lead him to become a sex symbol.

“I’m so surprised things have actually worked out the way they have,” he said. “I am just thinking the whole time: ‘I don’t really have the right personality to fit into that kind of role’.

“I’m not really afraid of it though because I don’t really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don’t know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really — apart from Twilight, which I didn’t really know was a heartthrob role. I really don’t feel I am one.”

Thom Yorke and Bon Iver Confirmed For New Moon Soundtrack

The New Moon Soundtrack is beginning to come together will big names signing up.

New Moon Director Chris Weitz has already said he was interested in getting Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke to record a song for the soundtrack and it was confirmed today that his wish came true.

While speaking at Comic-Con to entertainment Web site HitFix.com Weitz revealed he had secured a song from this musical genius but also from modeandmusic favourite Bon Iver.

"I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love" Weitz said."I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it foe the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard." Weitz said he'll be listening to the Yorke track Friday (July 24) and said that "unless it's sounds of him beleching, I think I'll put it in."

Weitz also said he's planning to include a track from the British trio Band of Skulls and once again mentioned that he'd like to get a Kings of Leon song for the soundtrack to the "Twilight" sequel.
The "Twilight" soundtrack has sold more than 2.1 million copies to date.

Meet 24 year old Xavier Samuel who Summit Entertainment have cast as Riley in the 3rd film of the Twilight Saga, Eclispe.

The Australian actor had tough competition for the part with names like Tom Felton a.k.a Draco Malfoy and Channing Tatum being considered. The author of the saga, Stephenie Meyer once said Tatum would play the role "beautifully".

However, Summit see something special in Xavier to play Riley who is a typical human college student until he comes under the vengeful hold of Victoria and aids her attepmt to kill Bella.

Eclipse is expected to start shooting sometime next month in Vancouver in time for its June 30, 2010 release.

Paolo Nutini Teams Up With Music Legends

Singer/ Songwriter Paolo Nutini is teaming up with two music icons Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart, pictured below, to write a song.

The 22-year-old singer revealed he is planning a collaboration with the pair, who played together in The Faces before Wood went on to join The Rolling Stones.
The song is the idea of Kinks legend Ray Davies.
"There is talk of us writing a song together and that would be an honour," Paisley-born Paolo said. "I think we are going to write the song for a charity project Ray is involved in. "I spoke to Ronnie about it and he seemed keen."

Paolo's new album "Sunny Side Up" was greatly influenced by the music of Rod, The Faces and The Rolling Stones so this collaboration should be something special.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE?

Holly, I and a group of very dedicated Harry Potter fans went to the sold out showing of the anticipated movie yesterday. (yes, we booked tickets hehe!)

I started reading the second last book again a couple of days ago so i would remember what will be happening in the film. During the journey and trailers we were all chit-chat at what Lavender Brown would be like, Fred and George's shop and most importantly how love and hormones of the main characters would affect each relationship in the film.

I did like the film alot, especially some of the scenes as they had the right balance of laughter and darkness. Rupert Grint will put a smile on your face every time he hits the screen and Tom Felton AKA Draco Malfoy will impress you with his performance.

The screen writers missed out alot from the book, i knew they would not be able to put all of it in but many of the scenes i was looking forward to see were missing.

Overall- Pretty Awesome hehe, A Must See =]

The Runaways- who? what? where ??

As one of most talked about projects that both New Moon stars, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are busy working on, we take a look back at who and what this coming-of-age film is about -

Starting off in a garage near Hollywood in 1975 put together with the help of a daring drummist named Sandy West is how the world first heard of the punk/rock group 'The Runaways. Lita Ford and Joan Jett took the role of guitarists and earned their great reps everywhere for female guitarists whilst blond haired Cherrie Currie was the hardcore lead vocals. To give the band more stage power and presence Jackie Fox joined alongside West on the drums.

They proved that you didn't have to have to be 'grown-ups' to write songs that people related to and enjoyed as they were still only teenagers when they were signed to Mercury records. In fact when they recorded their first album they were all only sweet 16! The media thought a group of teenage girls ruling the charts was a joke and Creme magazine even told readers 'these bitches suck' but showed them by getting big. FAST.

Cherrie Bomb is one of their best known songs-

They quickly gathered cult followings which were described as in the same scale as 'Beatlemania' and toured with the likes of The Ramone, Sex Pistols and Van Halen across America, UK and Japan. The girls even made a record of live recordings performed in Japan. They lived the high live but all good things have to come to an end (why we ask !?) and due to bad management, arguments arised and band members left and after one record with Jett as lead vocals the band played their last show New Years Eve 1978.

'School Days' (one of my favourites!) is featured in many movies such as 'Detroit Rock City'-

As still teenagers after the journey of stardom each member went different ways. Currie turned to acting and stared along side Jodie Foster, Jett had hits with 'The Blackhearts' especially with the song 'Bad Reputation' (the one at the beginning of '10 thing i hate about you'!) Sadly West sadly passed away in 2006 but carried on performing after 'The Runaways' which the rest of the group did aswell.

On June 9th Johnny Depp turned 46, he had alot to celebrate- a beautiful family, a villa in France, and still being at the top of his career which started out in the 80's.

His new film, Public Enemies will be hitting cinema's worldwide July 1st. It sees Depp play John Dillinger, one of the smartest bank robbers of all time whom along with his partner in crime, Pretty Boy Floyd played by Channing Tatum fools FBI agents all across America.

The premiere for the highly anticipated film took place in Los Angeles on June 24th. Here are some pictures from the red carpet from the event.

Instead of going to watch his film, the generous Depp stayed outside with his fans signing autographs and appearing in pictures with them. When talking to 'E News' Depp says he hates watching movies he has starred in and probably wouldn't see his new film.

Knightley and Farrell Walk Down London Blvd

The lovely Colin Farrell was on set today filming London Blvd in which he is starring in with Keira Knightley. London Blvd is the directorial debut from screenwriter William Monahan who is the very talented man behind Kingdom of Heaven and The Departed.
Based on the book by Ken Bruen, with Monahan adapting the script the story follows a South London criminal called Mitchell played by Farrell who is released from prison after serving three years for an assault he doesn't remember committing. He gets set up as a live-in handyman to a young actress but after tangling with a loan shark finds that he's pissing off half the people he meets and the rest are turning up dead.

Happy news for The Ways!

Gerard Way, the front man of the incredible 'My Chemical Romance' and his wife Lindsey (known as Lyn-z) whom is the bassist of band 'Mindless Self Indulgence' married last year meeting during the working together at music festivals in America and instantly fell for each other. It seems forever ago when we heard the happy news that Lindsey was expecting and finally she has given birth to a healthy little boy called Bandit Lee Way!
